REA YouTube tutorial: scope, cost and evidence

A source-linked reading guide to MG’s REA and Claude Code video: inspect its scope, chapter links and reported comparison before attempting your own test.

Selected video and review scope

MG — How to Reverse Engineer Anything in Claude Code was published on October 12, 2026. We checked its original description and chapter list; we have not watched the full video or independently reproduced it. This page helps readers locate and evaluate the material. It is not a first-hand test report.

How large is the demonstrated task?

The author describes using a compiled build of his own iPhone app, WellVueAI, without source, and limits the task to the Today screen. This is much narrower than rebuilding an entire application. Separate visual similarity, implemented interaction, data behavior and coverage of the rest of the app. Completing one screen does not automatically establish the others.

Time and cost reported by the author

The description reports about 40 minutes and $12 for the run without REA, versus 1 hour 12 minutes and $40 with REA. The author describes more features and a closer layout in the latter. These are the author’s figures for one example; we have not audited billing or verified the results. They are not REA pricing and do not predict the cost of your task.

Design a comparison you can interpret

Define one independently testable target, such as a form in your own application. List default values, invalid inputs, state changes and exported output. Give both runs the same target, input and time budget, and record model versions and available tools. Preserve the initial prompt, tool calls and final artifacts. Record any mid-run requirement changes.

Score appearance separately from behavior and exercise normal, empty, boundary and failure inputs. Include setup, retries and manual corrections in the budget. Even a better run establishes value only under those conditions. Test other inputs and targets before adopting the approach as a recurring workflow.
