macOS: redefinition of module SwiftBridging
This is the specific failure resolved in our case. It occurred while compiling the macOS process-ownership helper, before target parsing. A minimal Swift program failed with the same error.
macOS process ownership helper compilation failed
redefinition of module 'SwiftBridging'Check the cause
In that environment, the legacy module.modulemap and bridging.modulemap declared the same module. The case script checks the exact contents and stops if they do not match.
Apply the project-local workaround
Download the case package and run these steps in the extracted directory (Python 3 required). The script creates a local VFS overlay and compiler wrapper. It does not change system files or disable REA process checks.
python3 prepare-swift-workaround.py
source .rea-local/env.sh
npx -y rea-agents@6.5.0 analyze-javascript-application ./case-source --json > result.jsonThe recorded environment is macOS arm64, Swift 6.1 and SDK 15.4. A new terminal stops using these temporary variables. After a toolchain update, first test in a fresh terminal without the overlay.
Inspect the script ↗ · Download the case kit ↓Node version is not supported
Run node --version and npm --version. REA 6.5.0 declares support for Node 22.19+ (22.x), 24.11+ (24.x), or 26+. Node 23 and 25 are outside that range. Reopen the terminal after switching and confirm which Node is on PATH.
REA MCP does not appear in the agent
Check that setup selected the client you are actually using and that you approved its plan. Fully quit and restart the agent, then run the matching doctor --client check. A skill alone is not an MCP registration; successful registration does not establish engine readiness.
Ghidra, Hopper or IDA cannot be found
First establish that the task needs a native-binary engine. The static JavaScript case does not. If needed, verify that the engine starts independently before configuring its path with the official guide. Check the experimental-support notes for Windows Ghidra.
The target file or directory cannot be read
Verify the target exists and is readable. Quote paths containing spaces. JavaScript analysis takes an unpacked directory or supported ASAR; an installer is not automatically a source directory. Try the frozen case to separate environment failures from target-format issues.
Linux ps or process checks fail
Run command -v ps. Relevant Linux analysis paths require a procps-compatible ps; install the matching distribution package and make sure it is on the active PATH.
The browser investigation cannot connect
A webpage URL is not a browser debugging endpoint. Use the official guide to start a dedicated Chromium debugging session, confirm its endpoint, and check that the target page is open.
No matching issue. Try Node, Swift, Ghidra or MCP.
